Understanding MS: The Brain, Cognition & the Power of Movement
Briefly describe the project and the community need to be addressed
We invite you to join our team where you will play a vital role in organizing and promoting an event aimed at raising awareness for Multiple Sclerosis (MS). This collaboration can serve as a valuable reference for you in the future. We are organizing the MS “Walk & Roll” Celebration in Eau Claire to raise awareness and provide education “Tools and Takeaways” on Neuroscience Disorders that impact individuals living with MS in our community and their loved ones.
Students are provided with an opportunity to integrate and apply the knowledge, skills, and abilities developed through their undergraduate education in a professional setting at the MS “Walk & Roll“ Celebration March 29, 2025 at The Sonnentag Event Center. We are seeking help in logistics, creating an interactive educational, art, music and movement event. Perseverance and courage will be essential for creating a successful experience for all participants.
What is the mission of the agency or organization?
The mission of MS-Take Charge is to empower individuals affected by Multiple Sclerosis (MS) through education, advocacy, and support. The organization aims to enhance the quality of life for those living with MS by providing resources, fostering community connections, and promoting awareness about the condition.
What skills are required for this project?
The student creating the neuroscience display board for the MS "Walk & Roll" Event on March 29, 2025, should have strong research and critical thinking skills to accurately present how Multiple Sclerosis (MS) affects cognition and comprehension. They should be able to break down complex neuroscience concepts into clear, engaging visuals and text that are accessible to a general audience. Creativity and design skills will be essential for organizing information in a visually appealing way, using diagrams, brain scans, or interactive elements. Attention to detail and accuracy are key to ensuring scientific credibility. The project will involve researching MS-related cognitive impacts, summarizing key findings, and designing an educational board that informs and engages attendees at the “Walk & Roll” event. Through clear visuals and easy-to-understand explanations, this project will help participants better understand the neurological effects of MS including:
